Revenue beats and AI contract wins drive positive market sentiment

ServiceNow reported strong Q2 2026 financial results, exceeding revenue expectations with $3.98–$3.99 billion posted and delivering approximately 24% year-over-year subscription revenue growth. The company surpassed $1 billion in annual contract value for AI and raised its AI business target to $1.5 billion by 2026. Additional news included a multi-year partnership with TeamViewer to integrate digital employee experience tools into ServiceNow’s AI platform and a $40 million investment for a 5% stake in BusinessNext to expand AI-driven banking software and financial services automation.

Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, sees the brief post-earnings surge as lacking conviction. The stock remains well below all major moving averages, indicating a persistent bearish bias despite strong AI-driven revenue headlines. He notes oversold readings on momentum measures, but warns that sellers continue to dominate with little sign of reversal. Short-term volatility and failure to reclaim key resistance add to the risk profile. "AI and contract wins are not enough — without strong technical recovery above $97.07, buyers face a tough environment," Kharitonov asserts.

Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, spots enduring fundamental momentum in ServiceNow’s results. He sees the rapid growth in AI annual contract value, raised future targets, and strategic partnerships as clear catalysts for further business expansion. The analyst is confident that market concerns are near-term and structural growth drivers will prevail. "Strong subscription revenue and AI adoption set the stage for future gains — the bullish structure remains intact for patient investors," Karapetjanc says.

Parshwa Turakhiya, analyst, highlights that short-term sentiment remains pressured even after the earnings pop. He views the consolidation range and oversold technicals as a sign that intraday momentum may flip quickly with any surprise news or shift in sentiment. With volatility at play, setups around $95.25 and $97.07 could offer nimble trades for tactical traders. "This market rewards fast reaction — clear boundaries set up sharp opportunities on either breakout or failure," Turakhiya notes.

Bearish trend prevails as oversold momentum and resistance intensify

NOW remains well below its 20-day, 50-day, and 200-day moving averages ($103.22, $103.92, and $127.12, respectively), indicating ongoing bearish pressure across all timeframes. The 50-day moving average’s position below the 200-day reinforces this downtrend, while the Ichimoku Kijun at $101.59 serves as overhead resistance. Immediate price boundaries are set at $97.07 (ceiling) and $95.25 (floor). Momentum indicators point to weak conviction: the MACD is neutral, ADX is weak, RSI is at 36.18 and CCI at -135.47, both registering oversold conditions, with the Stochastic RSI and Bull/Bear Power echoing oversold momentum. Sellers control intraday action, as confirmed by the Awesome Oscillator, with the stock slipping to its intraday low after an upside gap and volatility at 1.91%.

Earlier, analysts noted that ServiceNow was experiencing sustained bearish momentum despite strength in its AI-driven business expansion. The current rebound has yet to alter this negative trend, making the $95.25 level a critical downside risk for traders in the near term.
