Bunge Limited (BG) dropped 3.23% as technical selling pressure intensified, with the stock gapping lower and holding near session lows. The decline is reinforced by medium-term weakness signaled by its position below the 50-day moving average, even as longer-term averages support an overall bullish structure.

Highlights

  • Bunge maintains a bullish long-term setup, trading above key moving averages despite short-term selling after a downside gap.
  • Momentum indicators show overbought intraday conditions, but an overall weak trend suggests limited immediate follow-through.
  • Expected five-day range is $112.88 to $120.44, with a 68% probability of sideways-to-upward movement prevailing.

Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, notes that Bunge Limited is under selling pressure after dropping over 3%. He points out its technical vulnerability as the stock remains below the critical 50-day moving average, despite modest support from longer-term indicators. The lack of news flow on the target dates signals that negative sentiment is more driven by technical, not fundamental, reasons. Kharitonov cautions about the risk of further declines should support at $112.88 fail. "Medium-term traders should remain cautious until the price reclaims the 50-day average, as momentum still favors the bears," he states.

Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, sees continued underlying strength in Bunge, noting its position above both the 20- and 200-day moving averages. He emphasizes that the bullish structure remains intact due to the positive longer-term alignment, even with recent volatility. Karapetjanc highlights that the higher probability for an upward move creates opportunity for traders seeking trend continuation setups. "With solid support in place, I anticipate momentum could push Bunge toward a breakout above $120.44," he affirms.

Long-term buying strength contrasts with medium-term resistance

Bunge trades above the 20-day moving average ($114.75) and the 200-day moving average ($111.19), signaling ongoing long- and short-term buying strength. However, it remains below the 50-day average ($119.12), indicating some medium-term selling pressure. Immediate support is near $116.97, with resistance at $119.12. The prevailing bullish alignment between the 50- and 200-day moving averages suggests a longer-term positive bias.

Earlier, analysts noted that Bunge's price action was shaped by mixed technical signals and a rangebound outlook against broader bullish trends. The recent intensification of selling pressure and the shift below key moving averages now signal that sustained recovery will hinge on buyers defending the $116.97 support level in the days ahead.
