But we saved everything 🙂.
Strategy has sold another 1,690 Bitcoin for about $108.6 million, continuing a shift from relentless accumulation toward more active management of its cryptocurrency treasury. The company paired the Bitcoin sale with a preferred-stock repurchase and another large issuance of MSTR shares while building a substantially larger cash reserve.
In its latest update, Strategy said it increased its U.S. dollar reserve by $650 million and repurchased about $109 million of STRC preferred stock. As of Aug. 9, the company held 840,447 BTC alongside a $4.65 billion USD reserve.

The company sold 1,690 BTC for approximately $108.6 million, implying an average sale price of roughly $64,260 per Bitcoin. The proceeds were used to repurchase about 1.15 million STRC preferred shares.
Strategy simultaneously sold 6.59 million shares of MSTR through its at-the-market program, generating about $653.1 million. That capital largely explains the $650 million increase in its dollar reserve.
The latest transactions raised what Strategy calls its USD Duration by 143 days to 2.7 years, extending the period its cash reserve can cover financial obligations. Strategy also said the STRC repurchase tightened the securities BTC Credit by 10 basis points.
Its Bitcoin position now stands at 840,447 BTC, acquired for approximately $63.36 billion at an average cost of $75,385 per coin. The latest disposal follows earlier sales, including 1,638 BTC during the previous week.
The transactions show Strategy balancing two increasingly important parts of its capital structure. Bitcoin remains its dominant reserve asset, but cash is taking on a larger role as the company manages preferred-stock distributions and other financial commitments.
The shift is significant because Strategy historically became synonymous with corporate Bitcoin accumulation. Its recent activity shows that the treasury can also function as a source of liquidity when management sees a reason to strengthen the balance sheet.
Strategy has not abandoned its Bitcoin model. Its 840,447 BTC position remains exceptionally large. But the combination of Bitcoin sales, MSTR issuance, STRC repurchases, and a growing dollar reserve points to a more flexible approach than simple accumulation.
The immediate market impact of selling 1,690 BTC is limited relative to Bitcoin's overall trading volume. The signal may matter more than the size of the transaction.
Strategy has been one of the most closely watched sources of institutional Bitcoin demand. Repeated sales could weaken expectations that its treasury represents permanently locked supply and introduce uncertainty around future transactions.
At the same time, the company still controls more than 840,000 BTC, so the latest sale represents only a small fraction of its holdings. The bigger question for Bitcoin traders is whether these disposals remain tactical or develop into a sustained pattern.
We also reported that Strategy sells $467 million in stock but leaves Bitcoin untouched.
