Nvidia stock tests $225 as AI demand supports momentum
Holding $217 keeps $230 in focus.

Nvidia gained after the CPI release and strong signals from AI infrastructure companies. Holding $217 allowed the stock to return to the $220–225 range, where buyers now face the next important resistance level.

On August 12, Nvidia ranked among the strongest performers in the technology sector after U.S. inflation data came in line with expectations and eased concerns about a potential Federal Reserve rate hike in September.

Additional support came from strong results at companies directly tied to the expansion of AI infrastructure. CoreWeave and Super Micro Computer reported better-than-expected results, which the market viewed as another sign of resilient demand for computing capacity.

$225 becomes the key level for the next upside move

Nvidia stock once again tested the previously identified support at $217 and managed to stay above it. That allowed buyers to push the price back into the $220–225 area.

The key level for today’s session is $225. A decisive break and sustained move above this threshold could strengthen bullish momentum and open the way toward the next target near $230.

A move toward the all-time high would push the RSI (14) into overbought territory, which could increase selling pressure in the short term.

Earnings volatility could make leveraged positions more vulnerable

The next major event will be Nvidia’s quarterly earnings report on August 26. With almost two weeks remaining before the release, short-term traders can still take advantage of the current technical moves. However, the risk of a sharp repricing is likely to increase as August 26 approaches.

Traders may therefore consider reducing excessive leverage ahead of the earnings release, as the stock could open with a wide gap in either direction.
