Trump portfolio reshuffle spans Berkshire Hathaway buys, Meta sales in June
Trump's big June trades

A new financial disclosure shows President Donald Trump is actively rotating across equities, bonds and exchange-traded funds during June through more than 1,000 reportable transactions. The activity amounts to between $78.1 million and $263.1 million in total trades, with purchases exceeding $49 million and sales totaling at least $28.5 million.

Highlights

  • Trump's August 22 filing disclosed 1,051 June transactions, including a $5 million–$25 million sale of Vanguard Dividend Appreciation Index Fund ETF on June 22.
  • Significant June 18 trades included $1 million–$5 million sales of Meta and Motorola and equivalent purchases of Berkshire Hathaway, Cintas, Visa, and Mastercard.
  • Defense sector activity featured June Palantir trades from $1,001–$15,000 buys to $500,001–$1 million sales, plus RTX and Northrop Grumman trades on June 12.

June filing details broad asset rotation

As reported by CNBC, Trump’s latest filing on Aug. 22 lists 1,051 securities transactions for June and reflects a broad repositioning across stocks, bond funds, commodities-linked exchange-traded funds and municipal bonds. The disclosure reports value ranges rather than exact amounts and only requires transactions above $1,000 to be listed.

The largest single move was a June 22 sale of Vanguard Dividend Appreciation Index Fund ETF shares valued between $5 million and $25 million. On the same day, Trump bought between $1 million and $5 million each of Fidelity National Information Services and Home Depot, adding to several June purchases in those names even as he also logged some sales of Fidelity.

On June 18, Trump sold between $1 million and $5 million of both Meta and Motorola shares. He also bought the same value range in Berkshire Hathaway, Cintas, Visa and Mastercard that day, while other June purchases included the iShares U.S. Treasury Bond ETF, the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF and the iShares GSCI Commodity Dynamic Roll Strategy ETF.

Defense and fund trades highlight sector exposure

Trump’s June sales also include the Vanguard Short-Term Bond Index Fund ETF, the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF and the Vanguard FTSE Europe ETF, indicating shifts across fixed income, consumer and international exposure. The mix of purchases and sales points to active portfolio management rather than a concentrated move into a single sector or asset class.

The disclosure also shows trading in defense-related names. Trump bought between $1,001 and $15,000 of Palantir Technologies on June 3, then sold between $15,001 and $50,000 on June 16 and another $500,001 to $1 million on June 18.

Two other defense contractors appear in the filing as well. Trump bought between $100,001 and $250,000 of RTX shares on June 12 and sold between $1,001 and $15,000 of Northrop Grumman on the same day.

Our earlier coverage of the U.S. Treasury’s plan to at least double its debt buybacks outlined how the announcement briefly eased market stress, but did not stop long-term yields from pushing to multi-year highs. We also noted that higher yields, inflation concerns, and geopolitical risks were weighing on equities and fueling volatility—setting a backdrop in which investors increasingly reassess exposure across stocks and bond holdings.
