Intel rebounds from $85 as 14A progress puts $98.50 back in focus
Intel stock held key support at $85 and recovered toward $90, continuing to follow the bullish setup outlined earlier. Attention now shifts to resistance at $91.60, where a breakout could accelerate the recovery.
CFO David Zinsner said defect density is declining faster than the company expected, adding that Intel has not seen this kind of progress since the 22nm era. The company plans to begin 14A risk production in the second half of 2027 and move into high-volume manufacturing in 2028.
This is particularly important for Intel’s foundry business as the company continues discussions with potential external customers. The next major fundamental catalyst is likely to come from confirmed 14A design wins.

$91.60 becomes the key breakout level
The setup outlined earlier continues to play out. Intel stock held support at $85 and recovered toward the $90 area.
The key level for today’s regular trading session is $91.60. A decisive break and sustained move above this level would significantly increase the probability of a further advance toward the $95–98.50 target zone.
The bullish setup would be invalidated by a return and sustained move below $85. In that case, the risk of a decline toward $80 would increase.
Jobs report could sharply increase Intel volatility
The key U.S. jobs report is due on September 4. Consensus expectations point to only modest employment growth and an unemployment rate near 4.1%, while stronger-than-expected payrolls could reinforce expectations of a more restrictive Fed policy stance and push Treasury yields higher.
For high-beta semiconductor stocks, this could sharply increase intraday volatility.
A break above $91.60 therefore remains the main technical signal supporting a move toward $95–98.50, but ahead of the labor market data, traders should account for an elevated risk of sharp moves in either direction.
