Attention around AMD at IFA 2026 in Berlin has shifted to the new Threadripper Halo Station. The system combines a 96-core Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9995WX with Instinct accelerators and, in its highest configuration, offers up to 576 GB of HBM3e GPU memory and 2.6 TB of total system memory. AMD is positioning the platform for local deployment, training and fine-tuning of large AI models, including models with more than one trillion parameters. Commercial availability is planned for 2027.

AMD will not trade in the regular U.S. session today because Wall Street is closed for Labor Day. Regular trading resumes on Tuesday, September 8.

$480 becomes the decisive level for AMD

The setup highlighted earlier fully played out. AMD stock rose to $477.57, moving beyond the $475 target from the previous analysis.

During the September 8 regular session, the medium-term descending trendline near $480 will become the key level to watch.

A decisive break and sustained move above $480 could accelerate the advance toward $500, where psychological resistance coincides with the 50-day SMA. If momentum remains strong and the breakout triggers additional short covering, the move could extend toward $514.

If buyers fail to clear $480, however, the technical structure would remain capped by the descending trendline, shifting attention back toward key support at $452.

Tuesday could become a delayed price-discovery session

The start of the week is unusual for AMD because several important industry developments are unfolding while the U.S. market is closed. Ongoing IFA announcements, new AI systems from the company and strong momentum across the Asian semiconductor sector will all be absorbed into the price at once when Nasdaq trading resumes on Tuesday.

That makes the reaction around $480 especially important. If the accumulated positive news flow helps AMD clear the trendline quickly, a move toward $500 could develop faster than usual, particularly if short covering adds to the momentum.
