Nvidia stock extends selloff as $222.50 becomes critical for next move
Nvidia has already broken into the $225–223 target zone, but the selloff may not be over yet. The stock is now approaching $222.50, a level that could decide whether buyers regain control or the correction extends toward $216.50.
Nvidia is expanding AI infrastructure in Australia alongside Firmus, Sharon AI, IREN, Megaport, ResetData, CDC, NEXTDC and AirTrunk. The partners plan to deploy up to 2 GW of computing capacity by 2027 using the Nvidia DSX platform, while Sharon AI alone expects to install as many as 68,000 Nvidia GPUs.
A fresh regulatory risk has emerged at the same time. The U.S. Department of Justice is examining whether Nvidia attempted to bypass antitrust scrutiny when it struck last year’s $17 billion licensing agreement with Groq. The investigation does not imply wrongdoing at this stage, but it adds another layer of uncertainty around the company.

Break below $222.50 could expose $216.50
Nvidia stock has now completed the downside move outlined earlier, reaching the $225–223 target zone.
For today’s session, $222.50 becomes the key support. A sustained break below this level could accelerate the correction toward $216.50.
If sellers push through that area as well, attention would shift to the $213–212 zone, where unfilled gaps from August 5 and August 26 are located alongside the 50-day SMA.
If Nvidia stabilizes around $222.50, however, the stock could attempt to recover toward resistance near $228.
Higher yields raise the cost of Nvidia’s premium valuation
For Nvidia, the broader risk-off environment is being compounded by rising bond yields. With oil trading above $100 and tensions between the U.S. and Iran escalating, the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield has climbed above 4.8%, its highest level since 2023.
Higher rates are particularly important for richly valued technology companies because they reduce the present value of future earnings. Ahead of the upcoming U.S. inflation data, this pressure could continue to weigh on NVDA even as company-specific news remains supportive.
