Highlights

  • AST SpaceMobile delayed commercial satellite network launch to 2027 after a launch vehicle incident and constrained availability.
  • A securities class action lawsuit alleges misrepresentation regarding dilution and $3.0 billion raised through convertible notes, adding legal risk.
  • Shares of AST SpaceMobile fell 5.8% to $59.98 with oversold technical conditions and a projected range of $56.66 to $63.3.

Commercial launch delays and lawsuits deepen shareholder risk

AST SpaceMobile's plan to roll out its commercial satellite network has been delayed until 2027, following a series of launch disruptions that included an upper-stage explosion during a ground test in June 2026 and subsequent limitations in launch vehicle availability, according to Congress. This operational setback lengthens the company's timeline to realize potential revenue and has weighed heavily on market sentiment. Additionally, PR Newswire reported that a securities class action lawsuit was filed against AST SpaceMobile, alleging misrepresentation concerning the scale of dilution and $3.0 billion raised through convertible notes sold over a nine-month period, introducing further legal and financial uncertainty for shareholders.

Sustained downside as oversold signals align with resistance pressures

On the technical front, ASTS is trading below its MA-20 ($62.07) and MA-50 ($60.79) on the hourly chart, and sits well beneath the MA-200 ($81.65) on the daily timeframe. The Ichimoku Kijun level at $61.63 acts as immediate resistance. Oscillator signals are mixed: MACD and ADX remain neutral, but the RSI at 40.7 is in sell territory. Both Stoch RSI and CCI are registering oversold readings, and Bull/Bear Power also signals an oversold condition, indicating strong dominance by sellers intraday.

Range-bound action expected as breakout risks remain elevated

Over the next two to three trading days, price is forecasted to consolidate within a volatility band between $56.66 and $63.3. There is a 24% probability of a move higher, compared to a 76% probability of further declines. The base case anticipates range-bound movement unless a breakout above immediate resistance or a drop below projected support triggers a directional extension.

Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, sees little to support AST SpaceMobile in the near term. He notes that delays to the satellite network rollout and a class action lawsuit increase execution and legal risks. Technicals signal strong selling pressure and the price trades below all key moving averages. "Until buyers reclaim at least $61.63 and the legal situation clears up, I remain defensive on ASTS."

Earlier, analysts noted that AST SpaceMobile faced sustained downside pressure stemming from legal risks and heightened capital requirements. The current operational delays and escalation of legal proceedings reinforce the prevailing risk of further declines, making a break outside the $56.66–$63.3 volatility band a critical signal for the next directional move.
