Intel is regaining strength as expectations improve around its chip and foundry businesses. After a sharp recovery, however, the market is increasingly looking for concrete execution rather than fresh promises.

Bank of America listed Intel as one of its top semiconductor picks in Q4, along with Nvidia, Marvell, Micron and Lam Research. The bank increased its projection for the AI data center market in 2030 to $2.2 trillion, while forecasting that investment from leading U.S. and Chinese cloud providers would be around $1 trillion in 2026 and $1.4 trillion in 2027. For Intel, the catalysts include potential foundry successes and robust CPU demand.

Intel needs to clear $122 to extend the rally

Intel’s move above $117.50 invalidated the bearish scenario outlined earlier. After clearing that resistance, the stock continued to recover and reached the next key level near $122.

For today’s session, $122 becomes the main threshold for keeping the upside momentum intact. A decisive breakout and sustained move above this level would provide further confirmation of the recovery, with resistance near $127 becoming the next target.

As long as the price remains above $117.50, buyers retain the advantage and the previous bearish scenario stays invalidated.

The current setup would weaken if Intel falls back below $117.50 and establishes itself under that level. In that case, the breakout structure would deteriorate and the risk of a correction toward the unfilled September 21 gap near $111.37 would increase materially.

Execution becomes more important as Intel’s valuation rises

The current advance at Intel is being driven by higher-than-expected prospects for its CPU operations and the possibility of foundry business, though the market has already factored some of that expected progress into valuations. The future upside will become more dependent on actual customer gains and execution.

The next major fundamental checkpoint will be Intel’s quarterly results, currently expected on October 22. After the recent rally, investors are likely to focus closely on performance in Data Center and AI, Foundry, and management commentary around new external customers.
