Supply agreement structure drives long-term positioning and equity exposure

Generac signed a long-term supply agreement with Amazon involving backup power generators for Amazon’s data centers. The deal is valued at up to $8 billion, with initial deliveries totaling $2.4 billion expected in 2027 and 2028. The agreement includes a seven-year warrant for up to 1,693,745 shares at $200.93.

Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, points out that while the Amazon deal has triggered strong sentiment and upside in Generac, the medium-term technicals are less convincing. He notes that the MA-50 remains below MA-200 despite the current rally, cautioning traders against overexposure. Kharitonov believes overbought momentum indicators and a volatility spike could increase the risk of abrupt reversals. He warns that fundamental improvements are back-loaded, with major revenues not arriving until 2027. In his words, "Chasing this move poses elevated risk — discipline and conservative stop placement are crucial at these levels."
Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, sees the Amazon agreement as a game-changing catalyst for Generac's long-term positioning. He expects robust institutional interest due to large-scale revenue visibility through 2028 and a bullish macro setup for data center infrastructure. Karapetjanc highlights that the deal's scale and added upside from the warrant reinforce Generac's growth profile. He views the technicals as supporting further expansion, with active buyers dominating and the bullish structure remaining intact. "I am confident Generac offers multiple long setups here — further growth is well supported by both fundamentals and sentiment," he states.
Parshwa Turakhiya, analyst, notes the news-driven rally has powered Generac close to resistance at $227.07, with intraday momentum sustained by strong buying. He sees potential for a short-term breakout if buyers remain active, but overbought technical readings suggest a pause or pullback is also likely. Turakhiya considers both bullish and bearish scenarios playable, given pronounced volatility and the well-defined support-resistance range. "For traders, this is a moment to watch price action closely and react quickly if key levels give way," he says.

Bullish momentum extends despite medium-term caution and overbought signals

Generac is trading above the 20-day ($198.46), 50-day ($201.08), and 200-day ($212.89) moving averages, indicating bullish momentum in the short, medium, and long term. The upward trend appears strong, although the MA-50 remains below the MA-200, suggesting medium-term caution. Near-term resistance stands at $227.07, and support is at $218.49. Momentum indicators confirm active buying, as the MACD and ADX both support the uptrend. The RSI, CCI, and Stochastic RSI all point to overbought conditions, with the Stochastic RSI at 95.01. Bull/Bear Power at 10.36 signals buyers dominate intraday action, and the Awesome Oscillator is consistent with ongoing bullishness. Generac closed at $223.69 after an upside gap of about $1.17 (0.54%), trading near session highs with intraday volatility at 5.03%. Technical momentum and indicators confirm today's sustained upside.

Previously it was reported that Generac’s bullish momentum was underpinned by expanding demand for backup power solutions amid growth in the data center and AI sectors. The newly announced Amazon supply agreement strengthens this positive outlook, with traders advised to monitor the $215.42 support as a key level that could define near-term risk in case of a reversal.
