⠀The sequence of higher lows indicates sustained demand despite the significant acceleration in gains since the beginning of October.⠀

Maia 300 strengthens Microsoft's AI infrastructure strategy

⠀One of the most notable corporate developments on October 12 was the unveiling of Maia 300, Microsoft's third-generation specialized AI accelerator. The new chip, built using TSMC's N2P process technology, is designed to process artificial intelligence workloads and is expected to begin deployment in 2027.⠀According to the announced specifications, Maia 300 delivers 40% more tokens per megawatt than leading GPU-based systems, while rack-level throughput could exceed that of Maia 200 by up to seven times.⠀Developing its own accelerators allows Microsoft to gradually reduce its dependence on Nvidia and AMD, which is particularly important amid the large-scale expansion of data centers and rising computing infrastructure costs. In the long term, this could improve Azure's cost efficiency and increase the profitability of AI services, although the initial expenses associated with deploying the new architecture will remain substantial.⠀

Azure revenue outlook supports long-term valuation

⠀Fundamental support for the stock comes from sustained demand for enterprise cloud solutions. For the recently completed fiscal year, Microsoft's revenue exceeded $331 billion, an increase of 18%, while Azure revenue grew by 41%, surpassing $100 billion. For the current quarter, the company forecasts further acceleration in Azure growth to approximately 45% in constant currency and total revenue in the range of $89.85–90.95 billion.⠀At the same time, limited computing capacity remains a constraint despite the launch of new data centers. Another positive signal was the recent upgrade of Microsoft shares by Melius Research from Hold to Buy, accompanied by an increase in its price target from $465 to $665.⠀The main argument is Microsoft's ability to convert investments in artificial intelligence into recurring enterprise revenue through the integration of Copilot, Azure, and business software. However, the scale of capital expenditures, which the company estimates at approximately $190 billion for calendar year 2026, increases investors' expectations regarding the efficiency of new projects.⠀

Treasury yields and technical barriers define the next move

⠀Today's advance in MSFT comes amid mixed performance across major U.S. stock indices: the S&P 500 is fluctuating near its previous close, the Nasdaq Composite is losing approximately 0.2–0.3%, while the Dow Jones is gaining around 0.3–0.4%. Thus, Microsoft is demonstrating relative strength even without a pronounced recovery in the technology sector.⠀The yield on 10-year U.S. Treasuries ended Friday around 5.24%, while the bond market closure on October 12 temporarily limits investors' reaction to changes in interest rates. The main macroeconomic test will be the release of September CPI data on October 14: an unexpected acceleration in inflation could push yields higher again and increase pressure on stocks with elevated valuation multiples.⠀The current rally, which has brought MSFT closer to strong resistance in the $550–555 area, increases the chances of a breakout and further gains toward $560–570. However, the possibility that the bulls will fail to overcome this resistance on their first attempt should not be ruled out. Nevertheless, as I warned in Microsoft maintains bullish momentum as enterprise AI demand supports shares, demand is likely to persist during pullbacks, and only a loss of support at $480 could significantly weaken the bulls' position.
