Bearish technicals persist as price fails to reclaim key averages

Shares of Advanced Energy opened the session with a gap down from $260.65 to $246.32 before paring some losses. The price remains below its MA-20, MA-50, and MA-200, which continues to define a bearish daily structure. RSI is at 39.2 and is approaching oversold conditions, suggesting the recent decline may be getting stretched. The nearest resistance is located at the prior weekly low at $256.52.

Odds favor continued downside as traders eye prior weekly low

A close above $256.52 would indicate buyers are willing to follow through on any rebound. After gapping down from $260.65 to $246.32, price has since regained some ground. Over the next five trading days, the probability of further downside is 78% while the chance of upside is 22%, with an expected trading range of $237.37 to $266.6. Despite a sharp move lower over the past week without a sustained trend, from here traders should watch for a close above the prior weekly low to confirm acceptance, or a drop below the recent range to indicate the move is being faded. On the weekly chart, the longer-term picture remains negative.

Earlier, analysts noted that Advanced Energy remained under technical pressure despite new product launches, with a broadly bearish outlook persisting. The current pattern of price weakness amid ongoing product innovation reinforces this negative trend, with traders advised to closely monitor for a decisive move above $256.52 or below $237.37 to gauge the next direction.
