Earnings could trigger a major Intel gap

Intel is losing momentum after a sharp rebound as investors turn their attention to tonight’s earnings report. The next test is whether $90 can hold if post-earnings volatility triggers another large price gap.

Intel has unveiled a joint project with SAP that connects enterprise warehouse-management systems with autonomous robots. The companies demonstrated a Physical AI solution designed to automate logistics operations using Intel hardware and software.

Market focus, however, is completely centered on the earnings report. As reported by Yahoo Finance, the analysts predict that the revenues would be about $16.44-$16.49 billion while the earnings per share would be $0.39-$0.40. Negative market performance regarding Alphabet’s earnings has affected Intel, too.

Hanging man pattern raises downside risks toward $90

Intel stock failed to hold the $90 level, activating the bearish scenario. The price reached the $85.50 target before rebounding toward resistance at $96.

The risk of another pullback toward $90 remains elevated today. Intel failed to break through $96 and formed a hanging-man candlestick on the daily chart on higher trading volume.

Holding positions after the closing bell carries particularly high risk, as Intel’s earnings release could trigger sharp after-hours volatility and a wide price gap.

Earnings release could trigger a major overnight gap

Intel will report third-quarter results today, October 29, after the regular trading session closes. Beyond the headline numbers, investors will be watching management guidance and progress in the Intel Foundry business.

For short-term traders, carrying positions overnight adds considerable uncertainty. A more cautious approach would be to wait for the initial post-earnings reaction, assess the direction and durability of any price gap, and only then consider fresh setups.
