Earnings optimism cushions Wedbush buying amid persistent market selling

Atlassian is set to report its Q1 2027 earnings after the market closes on November 5. During the third quarter, Wedbush Securities Inc. disclosed the acquisition of 2,570 shares of Atlassian valued at approximately $461,000. These developments were accompanied by continued anticipation of earnings, though price action has remained under broader selling pressure.

Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, sees Atlassian facing pronounced technical and sentiment-based risks after its almost 9% drop. He notes the stock is struggling below its 20-day moving average, despite institutional buying by Wedbush Securities — and warns this may reflect near-term skepticism, not conviction. Kharitonov highlights negative momentum divergence, increased volatility, and the risk that support at $198.85 could fail if sellers persist. He also stresses concerns around the sharp downside gap and exhaustion signals on the Stochastic RSI, viewing recent bullish indicators as fragile. "I am cautious until TEAM reclaims its 20-day average or buyers absorb lingering selling pressure; downside tests near $195.54 remain likely if sentiment weakens further," he says.
Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, remains constructive on Atlassian despite recent volatility. He highlights robust medium- and long-term trends, pointing to ongoing institutional interest and strong technical support above the 50- and 200-day moving averages. Karapetjanc believes the elevated ADX and resilient RSI signal sustained upside momentum, especially with earnings approaching and market attention focused on growth. "The bullish structure remains intact — I expect further growth toward $221.69 as investor appetite stays strong," he states.
Jainam Mehta, market strategist, interprets TEAM’s slide as tactical short-term pressure within a still-supportive broader trend. He notes that sharp intraday selling and an oversold Stochastic RSI may invite contrarian bounce plays if $198.85 holds. Mehta points out traders could exploit volatility bands for breakout or mean-reversion setups. "A potential rebound above $209.76 is on the table, but sustained bids are needed to confirm a shift in sentiment," he says.

Short-term downside meets medium-term resilience as mixed technicals emerge

Atlassian has pulled back to $200.52, now trading below its 20-day moving average at $209.76, but above both the 50-day at $194.29 and the 200-day at $117.15. This configuration points to short-term pressure from sellers, medium-term strength, and persistent long-term bullishness. The nearest resistance is at $209.76, with immediate support at the Ichimoku Kijun level of $198.85. Momentum readings are mixed, with the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) at 12.23 and the Average Directional Index (ADX) at 34.92 both supporting continued buying interest. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) stands at 61.53, not signaling overbought conditions, but the Stochastic RSI flags the stock as oversold at 8.35, indicating some short-term exhaustion. Commodity Channel Index (CCI) remains constructive at 71.04. Bull/Bear Power (BBP) at 8.51 highlights strong dominance by buyers. The BBP "overbought" signal warns of stretched intraday sentiment. The stock is down sharply by $19.605 or 8.91% after opening with a downside gap of about 0.9%. It is trading near its daily low on volatility of 2.88%. Intraday momentum signals some divergence with significant pressure after the open, even as medium-term indicators remain positive.

In a recent review, analysts noted that established SaaS vendors like Atlassian are successfully integrating AI capabilities, supporting sector growth rather than facing disruption. With current technical signals pointing to a likely consolidation between $195.54 and $221.69 in the week ahead, traders should monitor for a breakout above resistance or a drop below support as the next catalyst.
