Capital inflow and digital strategy boost growth outlook

ICW Investment Advisors LLC recently acquired 9,838 shares of Home Depot in the third quarter, with the transaction valued at around $2.8 million. The company is set to announce its third-quarter earnings soon, with expectations for single-digit growth in bottom-line results. Home Depot continues to see sales growth, digital expansion, margin improvements, and gains among professional contractor customers. It also maintains a decades-long record of regular dividend payments and is exploring the adoption of AI agents for its online platform, with strong identity and cybersecurity protections under consideration.

Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, notes the recent price surge is underpinned by short- and medium-term technical strength yet questions the sustainability of such momentum. He highlights that Home Depot remains trapped below its 200-day moving average, with longer-term resistance still limiting upside. The stock appears overbought intraday given dominant buyer momentum, according to Bull/Bear Power, which could result in volatile corrections. He also warns that single-digit earnings growth may not justify the current optimism, especially with institutional flows providing only temporary support. "With upside capped and signs of overextension, I see more risk than reward until long-term resistance is broken," Kharitonov says.
Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, emphasizes the constructive tone around Home Depot after strong institutional inflows and continued earnings resilience. He sees recent stake acquisition and digital expansion as clear signs of investor confidence, supported by the company’s robust dividend history and AI ambitions. Karapetjanc believes the bullish structure remains intact, with positive momentum indicators and support from professional contractor demand. "Further growth is expected as Home Depot leverages digital innovation and maintains healthy fundamentals," he says.
Parshwa Turakhiya, analyst, observes that Home Depot holds a strong short-term setup with bullish technical indicators and positive price action near the top of its intraday range. He sees near-term scenarios favoring sideways to slightly higher moves, given a 62% chance for upward momentum. Turakhiya notes volatility is moderate, allowing for sentiment-driven trading around key levels at $321.6 and $325.37. "The next week could offer tactical opportunities as traders play the run-up to earnings and technical signals remain supportive," he adds.

Short-term momentum outpaces long-term resistance amid buyer dominance

Home Depot is trading above the 20-day simple moving average ($302.27) and the 50-day simple moving average ($308.83), reflecting short- and medium-term strength. The stock remains below the 200-day moving average ($334.79), suggesting longer-term resistance is intact. The nearest resistance is the near-term ceiling at $325.37, with the first nearby floor at $321.6. Momentum indicators are bullish: the MACD and ADX both signal "Buy," and the RSI at 59.94 supports further gains without immediate overbought risk. The CCI is positive and the Awesome Oscillator favors buyers. Bull/Bear Power stands at 9.48, indicating dominant intraday buyer momentum and an "Overbought" reading, while the Stochastic RSI is neutral and introduces some caution. The stock opened nearly flat, is trading near the top of its intraday range, and volatility stands at 1.72%. Strength toward the highs confirms bullish momentum across these indicators.

Earlier, analysts noted that Home Depot shares were likely to remain range-bound amid competing technical signals and recent acquisition activity. The current setup now strengthens that view, with fresh institutional buying and bullish indicators supporting near-term upside, while longer-term resistance at the 200-day moving average remains the critical level to watch for a decisive directional shift.
