Rolls-Royce shares stay fragile ahead of November 12 update
GBX 1,200 becomes the key support level

Rolls-Royce remains under pressure after October’s sharp correction as investors wait for a clearer sign of stabilisation. The next test is whether GBX 1,200 can hold ahead of the November 12 trading update.

The next major event for Rolls-Royce is its trading update on November 12, according to the company’s official financial calendar. Investors will be watching the performance of Civil Aerospace, the servicing business and the Power Systems division.

Particular attention will be paid to whether the company can maintain momentum in profitability and free cash flow. After the October correction, management commentary could play an important role in shaping the market’s next set of expectations.

Holding GBX 1,200 becomes critical for price stabilisation

The scenario outlined previously is beginning to play out. Rolls-Royce shares have fallen towards GBX 1,220, stopping just short of the GBX 1,200 target.

That support becomes the key level today. For the price to stabilise, the shares need to hold GBX 1,200 and remain above it for several sessions.

That would create room for a rebound towards resistance near GBX 1,280.

Until then, the local trend remains bearish. A break below GBX 1,200 would leave Rolls-Royce vulnerable to another test of the October 23 low near GBX 1,158.

Market confidence remains fragile after October's correction

Despite the company’s longer-term prospects, investors have so far shown little urgency to buy the dip. After such a sharp correction, the market needs clearer evidence that selling pressure is easing and buyers are willing to return.

Until those signals emerge, any recovery may remain unstable. The approaching corporate update could also encourage greater caution, particularly among short-term traders.
