David Rubenstein, co-founder of the Carlyle Group, remains one of private equity’s most respected voices. In 2025, Rubenstein’s firm manages nearly $400 billion in assets, and he continues to serve as co-chairman while also hosting Bloomberg’s "The David Rubenstein Show." Known for his historical interviews and constitutional patriotism, Rubenstein has also authored multiple bestsellers on leadership and U.S. history.

With a net worth of $3.7 billion, Rubenstein is also a dominant figure in American philanthropy. He’s donated over $800 million to institutions like the Smithsonian, Kennedy Center, and National Archives. He is one of the largest individual benefactors to American historical preservation, funding the restoration of the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, and Monticello. In 2024, he was awarded the National Humanities Medal by the U.S. President for his commitment to civic education.
