Vantage Markets review: Broker warns clients to close UL and ULVR positions by December 5
Vantage Markets limits UL and ULVR

Vantage Markets has announced that trading in two equity instruments—US stock UL and UK stock ULVR—will transition to Close-Only mode across all its platforms beginning 2 December 2025. The brokerage is advising all clients with exposure to either instrument to close positions before the end of trading on Friday, 5 December 2025.

The directive means traders will no longer be able to open new positions in UL or ULVR during this period and will instead be restricted to managing and exiting their existing trades. According to Vantage Markets, any positions still open at the close of the trading session on 5 December will be automatically closed at the end-of-day price, ensuring an orderly adjustment.

Transition to Close-Only mode

Vantage Markets stated that the change applies to all servers and account types, making the restriction uniform across its global trading environment. The firm has not disclosed the underlying reason for the shift but emphasized the importance of timely action by traders to avoid unintended liquidations.

Clients are encouraged to review their portfolios and adjust risk exposure accordingly in the days leading up to the deadline. Close-Only measures are commonly implemented ahead of corporate actions, market structure changes, or regulatory adjustments that may affect pricing or liquidity.

Guidance for Vantage Markets clients

The brokerage emphasized that the automatic closure mechanism is designed to protect traders from potential volatility or execution constraints that may arise after 5 December. Positions closed by the system will be processed at the official end-of-day settlement price, ensuring standardized execution.

Vantage Markets continues to promote its suite of trading tools, educational resources, and dedicated client support channels for those needing assistance in managing their affected positions. The firm noted that traders can reach out through the platform’s support center for clarification regarding margin requirements, settlement procedures, or portfolio adjustments.
