IFC Markets review: Broker suspends S-CMCSA CFDs due to corporate events
IFC Markets has announced a temporary suspension of trading in Contracts for Difference (CFDs) on S-CMCSA, the instrument linked to Comcast Corporation shares, due to upcoming corporate events affecting the underlying asset. The suspension will take effect on December 12, 2025. According to the company, all open positions in this instrument will be automatically closed at the market’s closing price on the same day, and all pending orders associated with S-CMCSA will be deleted.

The broker emphasized that the measure is procedural and aims to protect traders from unexpected volatility or pricing disparities that may occur during corporate actions. While IFC Markets did not specify the exact nature of Comcast’s corporate event, such trading halts generally occur in connection with restructurings, mergers, dividends, or other actions that temporarily affect the availability or pricing of share-based derivatives.

IFC Markets stated that trading in S-CMCSA CFDs will be reopened at a later date once the market conditions stabilize and the corporate procedures conclude. The company highlighted that its policy of closing open positions at the final market price—rather than allowing trades to remain open during a freeze—helps ensure transparency and minimizes risks associated with unpriced or illiquid assets.
