JustMarkets review: MT5 crypto symbol renaming targets clearer trading
JustMarkets has announced a forthcoming update to the naming of several cryptocurrency trading instruments on its MetaTrader 5 (MT5) platform, a move aimed at standardizing asset labels and improving clarity for traders. The changes, which affect a small group of popular crypto pairs, will be rolled out as part of the broker’s broader effort to align its offerings with widely accepted market conventions.

- Traders earn on average 12% more per month vs other brokers.
According to the company, the update is designed to reduce confusion and ensure that instrument names more accurately reflect their underlying digital assets, particularly as crypto markets continue to mature and attract a broader range of participants.
Renamed crypto pairs and transition timeline
Under the new naming structure, several existing MT5 symbols will be updated. DOG/USD will become DOGE/USD, LNK/USD will be renamed LINK/USD, MAT/USD will change to MATIC/USD, and AVX/USD will be updated to AVAX/USD. These adjustments bring the symbols in line with commonly used ticker conventions across the crypto industry.
JustMarkets stated that the existing symbols will be placed in close-only mode and remain available until Jan. 23, 2026. During this transition period, traders will be able to close any open positions tied to the old symbols, but opening new trades on them will no longer be permitted. All new trading activity must be conducted using the updated symbols.
Any positions still open on the old instruments after the Jan. 23 deadline will be automatically closed at the prevailing market price. To avoid forced closures, the broker has advised clients to review and manage their positions well in advance of the cutoff date.
Platform scope and client support
The symbol renaming applies exclusively to the MT5 platform. JustMarkets confirmed that its MetaTrader 4 (MT4) offering will not be affected and will continue to operate without changes. This distinction is intended to help traders clearly understand where adjustments are required and plan accordingly.
