FP Markets has detailed the key benefits of its Pro Account, positioning the offering as a solution for experienced and high-volume traders seeking greater flexibility, higher leverage and broader market access. The Pro Account allows eligible clients to maintain elevated leverage levels across a wide range of asset classes, while operating under a professional client classification.
- Chosen by 3 200+ local traders in the last 3 months.
- Traders earn on average 12% more per month vs other brokers.
Leverage and market coverage
Under the Pro Account structure, FP Markets enables maximum leverage across Forex, Shares, Commodities, Metals, Indices and Cryptocurrencies. Major and minor Forex pairs can be traded with leverage of up to 1:500, while gold and silver also carry leverage of 1:500. Major indices generally offer leverage of 1:200, with specific instruments such as the GER40 capped at 1:100. Energy products are available at up to 1:100, except natural gas, which is limited to 1:25. Cryptocurrencies are capped at 1:2, while shares traded on MT5 carry leverage of up to 1:20.
Leverage availability is also tied to account equity. For example, leverage of 500:1 applies up to an equity balance of €20,000, while 400:1 applies up to €50,000 and 300:1 up to €100,000. Lower leverage tiers such as 100:1 and below carry no equity balance restrictions.
Eligibility and application process
To qualify as a professional client, traders must meet two of three criteria. These include executing an average of 10 significant trades per quarter over the past four quarters, holding a financial instrument portfolio exceeding €500,000, or having at least one year of professional experience in the financial sector.
Eligible traders can apply by submitting documentation to FP Markets’ support team. Once approved, the Pro Account status applies across all platforms, including MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5 and cTrader, without the need for separate applications.
Considerations and trade-offs
FP Markets notes that Pro Account holders waive certain retail protections. These include negative balance protection, eligibility for the Investor Compensation Fund, and detailed cost disclosures. Professional clients may also receive fewer risk warnings and operate under different best execution terms, reflecting the assumption of higher market knowledge.
FP Markets, a global brokerage offering multi-asset trading and advanced platforms, continues to position its Pro Account as a tool for sophisticated traders seeking enhanced trading conditions.
