The Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) granted regulatory approval to Webull EU in September 2024, paving the way for retail investors in the Netherlands to start trading on the platform, according to the company’s press release. The service provides access to European and U.S.-listed stocks, fractional shares, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and U.S. options. In addition, users gain access to market news, analytical data, educational resources, and advanced tools designed to help investors at all levels make more informed trading decisions.

The Webull app also supports extended trading hours, giving retail participants greater flexibility to respond to global market events. Competitive pricing is another key advantage of the platform, which emphasizes accessibility and a user-friendly interface.

Leadership statements

Andries van Luijk, CEO of Webull EU, described the European launch as a timely step:

“The investment landscape has changed significantly over the past decade. The European public is increasingly seeking low-cost and accessible investment opportunities, both domestically and internationally. Webull’s strength lies in its global network and innovative approach, which allow us to focus on delivering the best solutions for our clients while fostering resilience and trust.”

Anthony Denier, Group President and U.S. CEO of Webull, underlined the strategic importance of the move:

“This expansion strengthens our presence in Europe and reflects our commitment to making investing more accessible worldwide.”

Looking ahead

The launch in the Netherlands marks Webull’s first step into Europe, with additional country rollouts expected in the coming months. The trading app is already available for download via the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

With this expansion, Webull positions itself as a new competitor in Europe’s fast-growing online brokerage sector, aiming to attract retail traders seeking modern, affordable, and globally integrated investment solutions.
