AMD stock price forecast: overbought conditions persist as AMD trades at top of weekly range
AMD rises 0.80% today to $458.81

AMD emphasized its comprehensive approach to technology assets spanning from the cloud to the endpoint. Mike Nordquist, Vice President of Product Marketing at AMD, shared this perspective during the EyeOnTech_TT Podcast.

Nordquist said the company can holistically leverage its assets across all technology layers. The full episode is available online.

Highlights

  • AMD maintains strong bullish momentum, trading near record highs and well above key technical support levels.
  • Momentum indicators forecast continued buying interest, though overbought signals suggest short-term consolidation is possible.
  • Expected weekly trading range is $450–$470, with high probability of further upside and limited downside risk under current conditions.

Bullish momentum persists as price remains above major support clusters

AMD is trading at $458.81, well above its MA-20 at $326.25, MA-50 at $254.52, and MA-200 at $217.35, confirming strong short-, medium-, and long-term bullish momentum. The Ichimoku Kijun on D1 sits at $328.57, which is below the current price and therefore provides immediate support; near-term support is defined by the MA-20 at $326.25, with key support at the MA-50 at $254.52, while near-term resistance is set around the recent high at $456.51, and the Ichimoku Kijun at $328.57 forms a supporting cluster rather than pure resistance, so the next actionable resistance is the 52-week high at $456.51.

Overbought readings deepen as intraday buyers drive price to weekly peak

Momentum is decisively strong with MACD and ADX on D1 both forecasting Buy, and the Awesome Oscillator confirming upward strength. RSI on D1 signals overbought conditions at 80.68, echoed by CCI and BBP, with Stoch RSI hovering in neutral-to-overbought territory. Buyers currently dominate intraday via BBP, sustaining short-term bullish pressure. AMD is trading at $458.81, up from a previous weekly close of $455.19, reflecting a 0.80% gain for the week. The stock is now at the very top of its weekly range, with weekly volatility standing at 32.37%. Action is concentrated near the weekly high, suggesting strong upward follow-through and little sign of profit-taking even after a prolonged run.

Upside bias dominates as technical signals favor limited downside risk

For the coming week, the expected price range is adjusted to $450.00–$470.00, keeping movement realistic given AMD’s current volatility and positioning between its 52-week low ($107.71) and high ($456.51). With RSI, ADX, and MACD on the W1 all showing Buy, there is a very high probability (more than 80%) of further upside, making downside movement less likely. In the baseline scenario, AMD consolidates between $450 and $470. A bullish break above $470 could open up a new attempt at all-time highs if buying interest accelerates. A bearish scenario would be triggered by a drop below $450, exposing the stock to consolidation towards the MA-20 on D1, but this appears unlikely given the current technical setup.

Previously it was reported that AMD was exhibiting sustained bullish momentum, fueled by optimism around its AI-driven growth prospects and robust management confidence. With current developments now shaping the market narrative, investors should focus on key breakout levels that could signal the next phase of price action.
