Ouster, Inc. launched its BlueCity platform, delivering traffic detection capabilities that integrate speed, classification, and presence features with up to 500 ft advance detection range.

Powered by native color 3D lidar running on the new Rev8 OS1, this solution aims to streamline traffic monitoring, which traditionally required separate radar, camera, or loop systems for different functions. The move reflects a push toward more versatile and data-rich traffic infrastructure products, enhancing situational awareness and operational efficiency for smart city and roadway management.

Ouster previously introduced digital lidar technology featuring structured depth images and precise 3D point mapping for sensing accuracy, as detailed in its grid-based 3D output announcement. The company also debuted its Rev8 OS1 sensor with native color and 3D mapping capabilities, which was launched in Norway. These initiatives track Ouster's investment in advanced perception hardware for infrastructure and mobility applications.
