Candel Therapeutics opens AURORA trial

Candel Therapeutics has announced that enrollment is now open for its global pivotal phase 3 AURORA trial, evaluating aglatimagene besadenovec in patients with metastatic non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

The trial targets individuals whose disease has progressed despite prior treatment with pembrolizumab and platinum-based chemotherapy. This marks a key development in Candel Therapeutics' pursuit of new therapies for difficult-to-treat cancers, aiming to expand options for NSCLC patients facing limited choices after standard therapies.

The company previously reported that 80.4 percent of patients achieved a complete response in a phase 3 prostate cancer trial. Candel also released long-term phase 3 data for its CAN-2409 immunotherapy in prostate cancer. These milestones follow the ongoing effort to expand Candel’s clinical pipeline in oncology.
