OpenAI to launch GPT-5.6 Sol

OpenAI is set to launch GPT-5.6 Sol to the public this Thursday in partnership with blockchain platforms Terra and Luna.

The company also announced that it is expanding preview access to the new product globally, suggesting a broad rollout strategy for the latest version of its AI model. The addition of Terra and Luna in the launch points to an increased integration between advanced artificial intelligence tools and major cryptocurrency networks. Industry observers will be watching closely to gauge user adoption and network impacts following the public debut.

OpenAI has previously integrated agentic tools and Codex across its operations, enabling more complex, cross-functional projects company-wide. Earlier this year, the firm launched a Codex Security plugin and a GPT-5.5-Cyber model to streamline and accelerate software vulnerability patching for developers. These initiatives mark a series of technical upgrades ahead of the GPT-5.6 Sol release.
