SMTC is trading at $136.89, which is positioned below both the MA-20 ($143.19) and MA-50 ($147.85), yet remains well above the MA-200 ($96.99). This setup suggests lingering short- and medium-term seller pressure, while the longer-term trend continues to reflect robust bullish structure. The Ichimoku Kijun at $146.21 stands above the current price, marking it as immediate resistance. Near-term support is found at MA-100 ($119.08), with key support at MA-200 ($96.99). The nearest resistance levels are the MA-20 ($143.19) and the Ichimoku Kijun ($146.21).
Momentum signals on D1 are mixed: MACD leans negative while ADX reads neutral, reflecting a lack of clear directional strength. Oversold signals are present in both BBP and Stoch RSI, while RSI (41.28) and CCI (-84.85) indicate bearish momentum but stop short of truly oversold conditions. Sellers currently dominate short-term flows, as BBP remains negative. SMTC has advanced $11.93 (9.64%) this week, moving from a prev_week_close of $124.96 to its current level—this places the price in the upper part of the recent weekly range. Weekly volatility stands at a notable 25.65%, and the tone is one of recovery from the weekly low after recent strong gains. In today’s session, SMTC is up 8.75%, signaling substantial intraday buying pressure.
Looking ahead, the expected price range for the coming week is $132.61 to $142.89, which accounts for typical volatility and anchors the forecast realistically around current levels. Indicators on the W1 timeframe (RSI, ADX, MACD, and MA-50) deliver three Buy or Strong Buy signals, producing a high probability (75%) of a continued upward move, making further declines less likely. The baseline scenario envisions price consolidation within this corridor. A bullish scenario could see a break above immediate resistance at $143.19–$146.21; a bearish turn would require a slip below support near $119.08. This range is well above the 52-week low ($46.02) and sits closer to the middle of the annual span, suggesting SMTC is in the midst of a robust long-term uptrend.
Previously it was reported that Semtech exhibited short-term bearish momentum tempered by strong long-term technical support, leading analysts to anticipate further stability or a potential rebound. Building on this outlook, investors should watch for shifts in market sentiment, as continued consolidation or breakout moves could present new opportunities in the evolving trend.
