Sunrun sends 90,000 batteries in CA

Sunrun announced that more than 90,000 of its home batteries are being deployed across California as electricity demand and energy prices rise due to heat conditions.

The batteries are providing flexible capacity to support grid reliability and help reduce the risk of rotating power outages, according to the company.

Earlier this year, Sunrun partnered with Google and PG&E to launch a distributed power plant initiative in San Jose. The program aims to enroll 21,000 home energy systems to support local grid stability. Sunrun’s latest deployment in California further expands its efforts to use residential batteries for grid reliability.
