Split chart signals as gap up tests bearish structure

The session opened with a gap up from the previous close at $19.29 to $19.46, challenging the prevailing bearish structure. Shares of Select Water Solutions remain below the MA-20 and MA-50 but above the MA-200, reflecting a split daily setup. The Stoch RSI is in oversold territory, which limits the room for further downside and could support stabilization. Nearby, the weekly low at $19.18 provides initial support.

Downside odds prevail as traders eye $20.05 and $19.18 levels

To gauge whether the recent development is being priced in, traders should watch for a close above $20.05 as a sign of buyer follow-through, or a drop below $19.18 to indicate the move is being faded. After opening with a gap up from $19.29 to $19.46, the stock has not established a sustained trend, having experienced a sharp move lower over the past week. Even so, for the coming trading week, downside probability is 61% and upside probability is 39%, with an expected trading range between $18.7 and $20.35. On the weekly chart, the longer-term picture stays constructive.

Previously it was reported that Select Water Solutions maintained a constructive longer-term technical outlook despite mixed daily signals. The acquisition of Pilot Water Solutions adds a significant operational catalyst to the story and, as trading conditions evolve, market participants should monitor whether a sustained move develops above the $20.05 level or below $19.18 to clarify the direction of the next trend.
