Nvidia stock faces $210 risk as Alphabet earnings shake AI sentiment
Nvidia is back under pressure as Alphabet’s post-earnings sell-off revives concerns over the returns on massive AI spending. The next test is whether $212.77 support can hold before downside risk extends toward $210.
Nvidia introduced new RTX Spark capabilities for running AI models locally. Investor attention, however, quickly shifted to Alphabet’s results, which reinforced concerns over whether the huge sums being committed to artificial intelligence will generate sufficient returns.
Alphabet revenue rose 25% to $127.6 billion but came in below the $128.2 billion consensus estimate. Search revenue increased just 12% to $63.4 billion, marking its weakest growth in five quarters.
Google Cloud revenue surged 103% to $30.7 billion, yet Alphabet stock still fell about 10% after the report. The reaction suggests investors continue to place considerable weight on Google’s advertising business even as cloud services and AI infrastructure become increasingly important growth drivers.

A break below $212.77 would increase downside risks
The scenario outlined previously played out in full. Nvidia stock rebounded toward the $222.50 target before immediately running into heavy selling.
The key level for today is the September 14 price gap near $212.77. A break below this support would significantly increase the risk of a move toward $210. Given the current geopolitical instability and macroeconomic risks, this remains the base-case scenario.
A move above $220 would invalidate the setup. That would improve the technical picture and bring the $222–223.50 area back into focus, where horizontal resistance converges with the 50-day SMA.
Fed uncertainty adds pressure to AI stock valuations
After the Federal Reserve kept rates unchanged at 3.75%–4.00% on October 28, investor attention shifted to the risk of further policy tightening. Kevin Warsh’s mixed signals leave open the possibility that bond yields will remain elevated, a particularly sensitive issue for highly valued technology stocks.
For Nvidia, Alphabet’s results add another source of pressure by forcing investors to reassess the expected returns from AI spending.
The combination of expensive capital and growing skepticism around the efficiency of massive AI investment could keep volatility elevated and limit the stock’s ability to recover.
