Backblaze disclosed that for the most recent quarter, all drive models recording zero or one failure in its fleet were manufactured by Seagate.
The company cautioned that while these results are favorable for Seagate, a single quarter's data is not sufficient to draw longer-term conclusions regarding manufacturer reliability. Backblaze indicated it will continue to monitor future drive performance before declaring a trend.

Previous reports from Backblaze recorded a 9.33 percent failure rate for its 10TB Seagate drives, with 22 failures out of 965 units in one quarter here. The company also documented that its overall drive failure rate rose to 1.73 percent, largely driven by issues with older drives and select Seagate models here. The latest quarterly results contrast with these earlier figures.
