CME Group stock opened the session with a gap up from $293.53 to $296.39 before giving up a portion of the initial move. The price remains above its MA-20, MA-50, and MA-200, maintaining a bullish daily structure. The nearest resistance is the weekly high at $299.92. RSI at 70.9 is in overbought territory, which limits the potential for further upside.
A close above $299.92 would indicate buyers are willing to extend the advance. The session began with a sharp move higher from $293.53 to $296.39 at the open, though some of those gains were subsequently relinquished. Over the coming trading week, there is more than an 80% probability of further upside, with less than a 20% chance of a decline, and the expected trading range is $285.83 to $304.78. Even so, while the past week has shown a sustained move higher with a firm trend, a drop below $279.39 would show the move is being faded. On the weekly chart the longer-term picture stays constructive.
Previously it was reported that CME Group launched new Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures contracts to expand its suite of derivatives offerings. The latest record-setting quarterly results add a fresh fundamental tailwind, making $299.92 a decisive resistance level to watch for potential confirmation of further upside.
