SoundThinking ShotSpotter aids response

SoundThinking reported that its ShotSpotter technology played a role in enabling Hartford Police to rapidly respond to a recent shooting incident.

According to the company, police discovered two victims following an alert generated by the ShotSpotter system. One of the victims died at the hospital, while the second is said to be in stable condition. The technology is designed to detect and locate gunfire, assisting law enforcement in providing timely medical attention and investigation.

In a recent incident in Niteroi, Brazil, SoundThinking's ShotSpotter detected 83 gunshots in 15 minutes, resulting in seven arrests and the seizure of firearms. Separately, SoundThinking CrimeTracer was used by OCSheriff to connect a vehicle to a series of cell tower battery thefts across two counties. The company continues to partner with law enforcement agencies globally to support both violent crime response and investigation.
