Nano Nuclear Energy has announced a collaboration with Hyundai to construct a 15-megawatt KRONOS microreactor in the U.S. The partnership marks a significant development in small-scale nuclear technology aimed at enhancing energy infrastructure.

The update follows a video recap featured by Interesting Engineering, which spotlights the joint efforts of the two companies in advancing nuclear microreactor capabilities.

Nano Nuclear Energy is currently advancing the KRONOS microreactor through U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission review, targeting initial construction by late 2027, according to a recent company milestone update. The company’s subsidiary, STS, was also recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy for its work in nuclear transport projects earlier this year. These initiatives position Nano Nuclear Energy as an active participant in U.S. nuclear infrastructure development.
