Traffic to be contraflowed as Hawaiian Electric begins line reconductoring on Hakimo Road
Hawaiian Electric line work in Waianae

Hawaiian Electric will conduct reconductoring work on Hakimo Road in Waianae today and tomorrow between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

For safety, portions of Hakimo Road around the work sites will be subject to contraflow traffic patterns. Special duty police and flagmen will assist with directing motorists through the affected areas during the project.

The utility has recently experienced several service interruptions in the area. In Makaha, a power outage affected 2,460 Hawaiian Electric customers as crews worked to restore service. In a separate event, about 1,910 customers in the Nanakuli area lost power while first responders were dispatched.
