Societe Generale-FORGE (SG-FORGE), Societe Generale’s digital-asset arm, has expanded its euro stablecoin footprint to the XRP Ledger, adding another major blockchain to its distribution strategy as banks test tokenized cash for real-world finance.
The company said EUR CoinVertible is now live on XRPL, with Ripple providing custody support—an integration designed to position the token for payments-style use cases and institutional trading workflows.
“In line with its multi-chain deployment strategy, SG-FORGE is thrilled to announce that EUR CoinVertible is now launched on the XRP Ledger (the XRPL),” the firm said in a statement.
SG-FORGE framed the move as a bid to “increase adoption and benefit from the scalability, speed, and low cost of the XRPL, a secure and decentralized Layer 1 blockchain.” It added that, after earlier deployments on Ethereum and Solana, the XRPL rollout “reinforces SG-FORGE commitment to offering compliant crypto-assets that promote transparency, security, and scalability.”
The launch “is being supported by Ripple’s custody solution,” SG-FORGE said, and the partners plan to explore additional applications “including incorporating EUR CoinVertible into Ripple’s products and leveraging it as trading collateral.”
Ripple’s Managing Director for the U.K. and Europe, Cassie Craddock, said:
“Societe Generale-FORGE has long been a pioneer amongst European institutions when it comes to building out a market-leading crypto-assets offering for their customers.” She added: “Ripple is proud to have played a part in this journey as a long-standing digital assets infrastructure provider to SG-FORGE, providing proven and trusted technology that meets the highest security and operational standards.”
Jean-Marc Stenger, CEO at SG-FORGE, called the deployment a step toward broader institutional adoption:
“The successful launch of EUR CoinVertible on the XRP Ledger is a new step, reinforcing our commitment to offering next-generation, compliant crypto-assets that promote transparency, security, and scalability. We look forward to further innovation and expanding the reach of our portfolio of digital assets solutions”.
Banks and regulated issuers are increasingly treating stablecoins as market infrastructure—useful not only for settlement, but also as programmable collateral across multiple networks. By adding XRPL alongside Ethereum and Solana, SG-FORGE is signaling that distribution and interoperability matter as much as issuance.
