Ethereum holds $2,500 as ETF inflows offset overbought RSI
Ethereum holds near $2,500 as ETF demand remains strong.

Ethereum continues to hold near $2,500 despite short-term technical overheating and a failed attempt to clear $2,550. Sustained institutional inflows through spot ETH ETFs remain the main source of support.

According to SoSoValue, spot Ethereum ETFs recorded around $234.5–235 million in net inflows on August 27, extending their positive streak to nine consecutive trading sessions. Persistent ETF demand remains one of the main factors preventing ETH from entering a deeper correction.

Trading activity is also beginning to shift back toward the largest cryptocurrencies. According to fresh CryptoQuant data, Ethereum’s share of Binance trading volume rose from 14% to 24% over the past week, while Bitcoin’s increased from 20% to 29%. Altcoins, by contrast, saw their share fall from 63% to 47%, pointing to a gradual concentration of liquidity in BTC and ETH.

ETH struggles to break above $2,550

ETH attempted to clear the $2,550 resistance highlighted earlier, but sellers quickly pushed the price back toward $2,500.

For the rally to continue, Ethereum needs to break above $2,550 and hold there on stronger trading volume. If that happens, the next target would be the important $2,600–2,700 liquidity zone.

At the same time, ETH continues to show signs of short-term overheating. The RSI (14) remains deep in overbought territory, keeping the risk of a corrective move elevated after the strong August rally.

If buyers fail to establish the price above $2,550 over the coming days, the probability of a return toward the lower end of the current range near $2,370 will increase noticeably.

ETF demand supports ETH as momentum cools

Stronger ETF inflows have yet to produce an immediate price breakout. Fresh institutional capital is helping Ethereum hold its ground, but so far it has not been enough to push the price decisively above $2,550.

The market is therefore caught between two opposing forces. Strong fundamental demand is supporting ETH from below, while an overbought RSI and profit-taking are limiting further upside. This balance is keeping Ethereum range-bound for now, with a sustained break beyond either boundary likely to determine the next stronger move.
