HBAR slides around 8.5% as overbought momentum meets fresh ecosystem partnerships

HBAR slides around 8.5% as overbought momentum meets fresh ecosystem partnerships
Hedera slides 8.46% today on volatility

Hedera (HBAR) fell 8.46% as traders reacted to strong overbought signals and renewed intraday selling, even as recent ecosystem partnerships and regulatory engagement drew positive attention. The drop is contradicted by ongoing bullish technical momentum, with the token holding above all major moving averages and buyers dominating recent action.

Ecosystem expansion bolsters sentiment amid prevailing selloff

Hedera expanded its global ambassador programs with a focus on Latin America and emerging markets, launched a developer bounty, and formed a new partnership with WISeKey on cybersecurity and IoT. The CLPR protocol for cross-chain interoperability was approved by the Hedera Governing Council following regulatory engagement in the UK. Additional developments included DroppCC's CEO discussing stablecoin usage on Hedera for cross-border payments and increased interest in enterprise tokenization since the SEC granted a five-year Innovation Exemption for tokenized stock trading, though price action has remained under broader selling pressure.

Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, highlights the contradiction between strong overbought readings and renewed selling in HBAR. He notes persistent overbought signals across several oscillators despite the token holding above key moving averages. Kharitonov points out bearish alignment in medium-term trend and warns that recent headlines have failed to mitigate vulnerability to sharp selloffs. Ongoing upside is undercut by increased intraday volatility and the abrupt reversal after initial gains. He states, "Despite the bullish technical backdrop, I remain cautious as stretched momentum and volatility raise the risk of deeper corrections in coming sessions."
Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, sees recent partnerships, developer initiatives, and strong regulatory progress as reinforcing Hedera's long-term fundamentals. He emphasizes that the price remains above all major moving averages, with momentum indicators confirming a bullish structure. For Karapetjanc, expanding adoption in Latin America and innovation exemptions set the stage for renewed inflows and further upside. He believes multiple bullish setups are developing as consolidation persists. "With fundamentals and momentum aligning, I expect Hedera to resume growth and target higher resistance levels soon," he affirms.
Sholanke Dele, market strategist, views the sharp intraday reversal in HBAR as a clear sign of shaken trader confidence. He notes that heavy selling pressure continues to override positive news flow and ecosystem updates. Persistent overbought technicals make the price especially vulnerable to further downside. Dele warns, "Until sellers exhaust their momentum, any recovery attempts may face strong resistance and heightened volatility."

Overbought technicals persist as volatility undercuts bullish momentum

HBAR/USD is trading above the 20-day, 50-day, and 200-day moving averages, currently at $0.09 compared to $0.0798, $0.0749, and $0.0816. This moving average stack suggests supportive momentum across short-, medium-, and long-term timeframes, with the near-term ceiling marked at $0.0937 and notable Ichimoku Kijun support at $0.0857. However, the MA-50 versus MA-200 alignment still confirms a bearish medium-term trend. Momentum is strong, as signaled by both MACD and ADX, and various oscillators (RSI, Stochastic RSI, CCI) indicate firmly overbought conditions. Bull/Bear Power is positive, reflecting dominant buying activity during the session, but persistent overbought warnings from oscillators remain. The Awesome Oscillator also displays a bullish tone. Notably, HBAR/USD is currently trading near the daily low following an 8.46% decline and increased intraday volatility of 8.11%. Intraday behavior moved lower after an initial upside gap, a contrast to the ongoing bullish momentum and overbought technical readings.

Earlier, analysts noted that Hedera’s strong technical momentum and increasing institutional participation were expected to support ongoing price stability and potential gains. In light of the current high volatility and mixed momentum signals, a decisive move above $0.0937 or below $0.0857 will be pivotal in determining HBAR’s next directional trend.
