Duelbits takes platform offline after $7 million crypto wallet breach
Duelbits hit by $7M hack

Crypto gambling platform Duelbits goes offline after attackers drain roughly $7 million from its hot wallets across multiple blockchains. The incident concentrates most of the stolen assets into a single Ethereum address and adds to operational pressure on a casino that ranked among the larger tracked crypto betting platforms by on-chain deposits.

Highlights

  • Duelbits confirms a $7 million hack affecting hot wallets on Ethereum, BNB Chain, Tron, and Bitcoin, taking its platform offline for investigation.
  • Attackers consolidated most stolen assets into one address holding 2,234 ETH (about $6 million), with funds unmoved as of publication.
  • Prior to the breach, Duelbits ranked 17th on DappRadar among 43 crypto casinos with $5.7 million in on-chain deposits, highlighting hot wallet risk in the sector.

Security breach and investigation timeline

As first reported by CoinDesk, citing Scam Sniffer, Duelbits hot wallets on Ethereum, BNB Chain and Tron sent funds to newly created addresses in what the blockchain security firm describes as a suspected private key compromise. It later says the company’s bitcoin hot wallet also loses 8.1 BTC, extending the attack across four blockchains.

Duelbits co-founder Joe says on X that the company is confirming a hack of about $7 million and is still investigating how it happened. He adds that user funds are safe, and the platform says in a statement that it takes the site offline as a precaution until the investigation is complete and its hot wallets are refilled.

Fund movements and sector impact

Most of the stolen assets have since been swapped into ether and consolidated into a single new address holding about 2,234 ETH, worth roughly $6 million. The funds do not move onward as of publication, leaving the bulk of the losses visible on-chain.

Before the breach, DappRadar ranks Duelbits 17th among 43 tracked crypto casinos by on-chain deposits, with about $5.7 million across its monitored wallets. The incident underscores the operational risk tied to hot wallet management in the crypto gambling sector, where service continuity and user confidence can quickly come under strain after a security failure.

Our earlier report on the National Stock Exchange of India’s warning about illegal trading platforms highlighted how unregistered tipsters and “assured return” schemes can expose investors to fraud and serious legal consequences. It also noted that the exchange filed police complaints, outlined stringent penalties under the SCRA, and urged market participants to verify broker and authorized-person credentials before engaging with any service.
