Token supply hinges on enterprise adoption under new Cloud Engines plan

DFINITY has launched the Cloud Engines program, pledging to allocate 20% of enterprise cloud revenue to ICP token buybacks and burns under the Internet Computer ecosystem's 'Mission 70' plan. Proposals were also put forward to cut first-generation node rewards by 40% and reduce minimum subnet sizes, subject to governance approval. The impact of these measures on ICP supply will depend on enterprise customer adoption and revenue, with notable early deployments including Pakistan’s national Cloud Engine and a UNDP pilot.

Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, believes the ICP rally is built on hype around buybacks rather than tangible adoption. He highlights that the Cloud Engines initiative’s success depends on actual enterprise revenue, which remains highly uncertain. He notes technical signals are positive, but the price struggles to hold momentum near today’s low range. Kharitonov warns of governance risks, as reduction in node rewards and subnet sizes require approval and effective execution. "The sustainability of this move is questionable unless real enterprise flows materialize to support ICP’s tokenomics," he says.
Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, sees DFINITY’s Cloud Engines program as a catalyst for future demand and token burn, reinforcing bullish momentum for ICP. He notes early institutional adoption, including Pakistan’s national platform and a UNDP pilot, as signs of scalable enterprise interest. Karapetjanc highlights bullish technical structure and strong sentiment on the back of governance proposals. "This market offers multiple setups, and further growth is expected as adoption accelerates and the bullish structure remains intact," he states.
Jainam Mehta, market strategist, acknowledges ICP’s strong technical trend with all major averages supporting upward momentum. He points out that mixed oscillators and current price action near the session’s low suggest a tactical pause may occur. Mehta advises traders to watch for a potential breakout above $3.55 or mean reversion toward $3.43 for actionable entries. "A divergence between momentum and sentiment could offer contrarian setups if volatility picks up," he says.

Bullish momentum persists despite mixed oscillators and narrow trading range

ICP/USD is currently trading above its major daily moving averages: MA-20 at $3.22, MA-50 at $2.87, and MA-200 at $2.51. This configuration signals short-, medium-, and long-term bullish momentum, strengthened by the MA-50 crossing above the MA-200, with support at $3.43 and resistance at $3.55. Momentum indicators—including a bullish MACD and ADX, along with an RSI at 55.98—signal positive momentum without overbought risk. The Bull/Bear Power (BBP) shows buyers still in control after a sizable gap higher. Some pressure is visible as ICP trades near the low end of today’s range with a volatility amplitude of 3.50%, and mixed oscillator readings (neutral StochRSI, CCI, and Awesome Oscillator) point to a potential pause in upside momentum.

Earlier, analysts noted that Internet Computer was displaying robust bullish momentum supported by favorable technical signals, with expectations for rangebound volatility. The latest developments around DFINITY's Cloud Engines program and reinforced trend structure strengthen the bullish outlook, making the $3.55 resistance a critical level for traders to monitor as a potential trigger for further gains.
