Solana price slips toward $210 as momentum weakens
Solana retreats toward $210 support after rejection at $240 resistance earlier this month

Solana (SOL) traded near $210 on Wednesday, extending its retreat after failing to sustain momentum above the $240 resistance earlier this month. The pullback reflects weakening bullish conviction, with the token now testing its mid-channel support and key exponential moving averages.

Highlights

- Solana trades near $210 after rejecting $240, testing support at key EMAs.

- Net outflows of $3.6 million signal cautious investor sentiment.

- Outlook hinges on defending $210, with downside risk toward $194–$181.

Traders are closely watching whether the $210 zone can provide a base or whether deeper retracement risks unfold.

Technical picture under pressure

From a chart perspective, Solana has slipped from the upper boundary of its rising channel near $250 and is now consolidating around the $210–$209 region, where the 50-day EMA aligns. A sustained rebound here could allow for recovery toward $224, followed by a retest of the $240–$245 supply cluster. Failure to hold current levels, however, would expose the $194 and $181 supports, which coincide with the 100- and 200-day EMAs.

Momentum signals are softening. The RSI has cooled to around 40, reflecting caution rather than oversold conditions, leaving room for further downside should sellers remain active. The technical outlook underscores a fragile equilibrium, where a break below $210 risks accelerating losses toward the $190 handle.

Market flows signal caution

On-chain activity highlights the cautious sentiment surrounding Solana. Data from September 24 showed $3.6 million in net outflows, evidence that traders are shifting tokens onto exchanges, increasing potential sell pressure. This pattern contrasts with earlier recovery phases when sustained outflows supported upside moves. Without a return to stronger accumulation, Solana may find it difficult to retake higher resistance levels in the near term.

Despite these challenges, Solana’s structural picture remains broadly constructive. The token continues to track within a rising channel that has guided price action since April, supported by ongoing institutional interest in high-throughput blockchain infrastructure. However, the near-term trajectory remains closely tied to liquidity shifts and broader risk sentiment across digital assets.

Outlook

The immediate test for Solana is whether buyers can defend the $210 support. A successful rebound could restore momentum toward the $224–$240 range, while a breakdown would open the path to $194 and $181. Until the token regains footing above $224, upside potential remains capped.

Previously, we noted Solana’s growing dominance in DeFi activity and exchange outflows that reinforced bullish conviction. The latest reversal marks a shift in sentiment, highlighting how quickly liquidity dynamics can influence near-term direction even within a constructive long-term trend.
