Highlights

  • USD/SEK is trading above key moving averages, supporting a sustained bullish trend across timeframes.
  • Momentum indicators are broadly bullish with strong MACD and ADX, but Stochastic RSI signals short-term hesitation.
  • The pair is trading at kr10.0393 with a projected 5-day range of kr9.9706 to kr10.1081 and an upward move probability above 80%.
Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, sees the USD/SEK's technical setup as constructive but urges caution. He points out that although momentum is strong and all major moving averages are supportive, the lack of material news drivers weakens conviction behind the rally. Kharitonov warns that the divergence in Stochastic RSI raises concerns over the sustainability of bullish momentum in the short term. He cautions that if the pair fails to hold above kr10.0374, downside risks could materialize quickly. "Despite robust momentum signals, traders should not ignore developing oversold signals and the current absence of news catalysts," Kharitonov says.
Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, highlights the prevailing bullish structure in USD/SEK. He believes the decisive move above all key moving averages and sustained upward pressure signal ongoing strength. Karapetjanc notes that healthy momentum and strong buyer presence indicate further growth is likely ahead. He emphasizes that the market offers multiple setups for continued gains if the pair stays above kr10.0374. "As the bullish structure remains intact, I expect upside opportunities to persist in the coming sessions," Karapetjanc asserts.
Sholanke Dele, market strategist, remains cautious despite the recent price gains in USD/SEK. He points to short-term technical signals that reveal some hesitation, notably the conflicting Stochastic RSI reading. Dele argues that with no new macro or fundamental catalysts present, upside moves could stall if momentum fades. "Without supportive news or fresh drivers, I am skeptical that this uptrend can extend much further in the near term," Dele comments.

All-timeframe momentum reinforced as key resistance and support hold

USD/SEK has advanced above all key moving averages: MA-20 at kr9.9221, MA-50 at kr9.7051, and MA-200 at kr9.4835. This supports bullish momentum across short-, medium-, and long-term horizons, with further trend confirmation from the bullish MA-50 vs MA-200 alignment. Immediate resistance stands at the near-term ceiling of kr10.1046, while support lies at the near-term floor of kr10.0374. Momentum readings are robust. Both the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) and Average Directional Index (ADX) indicate strong bullish signals, while the Relative Strength Index (RSI) at 63.1554 remains in the buy zone, not yet signaling overbought. The Commodity Channel Index (CCI) similarly points upward. Stochastic RSI is at 0, reflecting a developing oversold condition, which diverges from other bullish momentum signals and suggests some short-term hesitation. Bull/Bear Power (BBP) at 0.0863 confirms intraday buyer dominance, and the Awesome Oscillator (AO) is neutral. The pair is trading at kr10.0393 after a rise of kr0.0506 (0.51%) with a nearly flat open, near the day’s high, and intraday volatility stands at 0.51%. The overall tone remains firm, with price action showing strength toward the highs on healthy momentum.

Earlier, analysts noted that USD/SEK was demonstrating renewed bullish momentum above key averages, with further gains contingent on confirmation of the trend. The latest analysis reinforces this outlook, highlighting an expanded trading band and signaling kr10.1081 as the next resistance level to monitor for potential breakout.
