Highlights

  • USD/SEK remains in a bullish structure across short-, medium-, and long-term timeframes with price well above key moving averages.
  • Momentum indicators confirm continued buyer control, but overbought conditions increase the risk of near-term pullback.
  • Expected trading range for the next two to three days is kr10.0241 to kr10.1249, with a 77% probability of an upward move.

Overbought signals intensify despite bullish bias and robust support

On the technical front, USD/SEK is trading above the MA-20 and MA-50 on the hourly timeframe and is well above the MA-200 on the daily chart. The Ichimoku Kijun at kr10.0119 acts as immediate support for the pair. Momentum is strong, with both MACD and ADX showing a bullish bias. However, RSI, Stoch RSI, and CCI are all in overbought territory, signaling stretched conditions. Intraday, Bull/Bear Power confirms buyers remain in control, while the Awesome Oscillator is neutral and provides no additional directional insight.

Upside scenario favored as volatility bands define near-term range

For the upcoming sessions, price is expected to remain within a volatility band ranging from kr10.0241 to kr10.1249. The probability of an upward move is estimated at 77%, while the downside scenario carries a 23% likelihood. Baseline expectations call for consolidation within this range, but a bullish breakout could see USD/SEK move above kr10.1249, whereas a sustained drop below kr10.0241 would signal a bearish reversal.

Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, notes that USD/SEK remains technically strong with price action well above key moving averages and bullish momentum indicators. He sees buyers in control for now, but highlights the overbought readings on multiple oscillators as a warning for stretched conditions. Kharitonov remains cautious and expects price to consolidate within the kr10.0241–kr10.1249 band unless a clear breakout occurs. "Until we see a sustained move outside this range, I am not chasing the trend here," he says.

Earlier, analysts noted that USD/SEK was supported by sustained bullish momentum across multiple timeframes. With current technical signals showing persistent strength but momentum indicators flagging overbought conditions, traders should be alert for a potential breakout above kr10.1249 or a sharp reversal should the price retreat below kr10.0241.
