Highlights

  • AUD/IDR is trading below key short-, medium-, and long-term moving averages, indicating persistent downward pressure.
  • Technical indicators are mixed, with several overbought signals and short-term momentum suggesting possible upside consolidation.
  • Forecast for the next 5 trading days is a range from Rp11,438 to Rp12,819 with a 71% probability of an upward move.
Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, sees persistent technical weakness in AUD/IDR as it continues trading below all key moving averages. He is cautious about the lack of supporting news or positive sentiment, emphasizing that current momentum indicators give mixed and potentially misleading signals. Kharitonov highlights that the sharp drop to Rp11,873 and overbought readings raise the risk of a false rebound and further downside, with firm resistance at Rp12,178. He points out that the high volatility and intraday selling pressure overshadow any bullish momentum blips. "Sustained closes below Rp11,438 would confirm a bearish extension, so traders must remain defensive until clear reversal signals emerge," he says.
Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, remains constructive on AUD/IDR despite recent weakness. He notes that technical consolidation near current levels offers multiple setups for bullish participants as the pair sits near key support bands. Karapetjanc emphasizes the high probability scenario for a rebound, supported by a majority of buy signals and clear resistance at Rp11,906. He identifies this as an attractive zone for tactical entries targeting a move back to Rp12,819 should momentum build. "The bullish structure remains intact — I expect further growth if the pair holds above the immediate floor," Karapetjanc asserts.
Parshwa Turakhiya, analyst, observes that sentiment is clouded by conflicting momentum signals after the sharp AUD/IDR drop. The analyst notes short-term opportunities as overbought indicators suggest a potential snapback, yet persistent selling pressure cannot be ignored. Turakhiya highlights the tactical importance of Rp11,438 and Rp11,906 for reactive setups over the next sessions. "Volatility makes this a chart-driven market, so I’m watching swift turns and sentiment swings for quick trades," he comments.

Bearish technical setup as mixed momentum and overbought signals emerge

AUD/IDR remains below the 20-day, 50-day, and 200-day moving averages at Rp12,554, Rp12,582, and Rp12,451, respectively, indicating continued bearish control over short-, medium-, and long-term timeframes. The Ichimoku Kijun, positioned at Rp12,178, now serves as key resistance. Immediate chart levels are defined by a near-term ceiling at Rp11,906 and a floor at Rp11,438. Momentum indicators paint a mixed picture: the MACD signals buying strength, while the ADX remains at strong sell. Both the RSI and CCI suggest overbought conditions, and the Stochastic RSI is fully overbought at 100. Bull/Bear Power analysis indicates intraday buyer dominance and an overbought state, with the Awesome Oscillator also confirming buy momentum. The pair saw a sharp drop to Rp11,873 after opening almost unchanged, with volatility at 0.54% and persistent post-open selling pressure in contrast to some bullish momentum readings.

Earlier, analysts noted that AUD/IDR had entered a bearish phase, supported by sustained technical weakness and institutional measures that failed to stem broad selling pressure. The latest session not only reinforces this downtrend but also raises the importance of monitoring Rp12,819 as the next potential rebound target if price action manages a decisive turn higher.
