Highlights

  • EUR/HUF maintains a short- and medium-term bullish bias, trading above key short-term moving averages but below the long-term average.
  • Momentum indicators flash mixed signals, with most oscillators bullish but MACD and weak ADX signaling caution and lack of clear trend strength.
  • The pair is forecast to remain in a Ft357.112–Ft363.488 range over the next week, with a 55% probability of upside and resistance at Ft363.488.

Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, notes that EUR/HUF’s bounce is driven mostly by technical buying and oscillator signals, with little support from macro or news catalysts. He emphasizes that the broader bearish trend remains intact since the pair is capped below the 200-day moving average. The conflicting momentum readings and absent news flow reinforce the view that this move is likely short-lived. Kharitonov highlights that buyers are overstretched, with volatility signaling risk of reversals. "Without a shift in fundamentals or macro drivers, I expect limited and short-lived upside in EUR/HUF," he states.

Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, sees the technical setup in EUR/HUF as constructive, with price action supported by multiple bullish indicators despite the longer-term trend. He believes that the strong short-term momentum and clear intraday opportunities make the current zone promising for tactical buying strategies. The clear resistance and support levels provide favorable risk/reward for traders. "With momentum intact and technical structure favoring buyers, I expect further growth in EUR/HUF if resistance at Ft363.488 breaks," he says.

Jainam Mehta, market strategist, believes EUR/HUF is at a tactical junction with oscillators signaling potential upside but MACD and ADX suggesting caution. He notes the absence of fresh news as a factor that could limit any sustained move. The sideways corridor offers both breakout and mean-reversion scenarios for active traders. "If the pair closes above Ft363.488, I would watch for a momentum-driven breakout, otherwise I consider range trades until macro sentiment shifts," Mehta comments.

Momentum divergence widens as short-term buy signals conflict with weak trend

EUR/HUF is trading above both the 20-day (Ft353.419) and 50-day (Ft355.321) moving averages, but remains below the 200-day (Ft374.353), highlighting a short- and medium-term bullish structure within a longer-term bearish trend. The nearest resistance is the near-term ceiling at Ft363.488, with initial support at the near-term floor of Ft360.835. The Ichimoku Kijun (Ft353.097) is well below current price and confirms supportive momentum for the short-term uptrend. Momentum signals show conflicting dynamics. MACD signals strong sell momentum, while the Average Directional Index (ADX) at 13.662 suggests no clear market trend. The RSI at 51.188, Stochastic RSI at 75.459, and Commodity Channel Index (CCI) at 57.571 all forecast buy signals and indicate mild overbought conditions. Bull/Bear Power (BBP) at 1.778 shows buyers dominating intraday momentum with an overbought warning. Intraday volatility stands at 1.63%, pointing to a firm tone and strength toward highs. Oscillators tilt bullish, but wide divergence with MACD and weak ADX highlight a lack of clear trend conviction.

Earlier, analysts noted that while EUR/HUF displayed short- and medium-term bullish momentum, the longer-term outlook was still bearish. The latest price action reinforces this dynamic, with mixed technical signals suggesting traders should watch for a confirmed breakout above Ft363.488 to indicate a potential shift in trend.
