Highlights

  • KBRA Europe affirms the rating with a stable outlook on Crown Impact S.C.Sp.'s $30 million senior secured subscription facility provided by ING Bank N.V., London Branch.
  • The facility's maturity is extended by one year to June 2027 with no further extensions, maintaining use restrictions excluding distributions or redemption payments.
  • Improved credit quality of the LP base and 79.0% capital called by June 2026 support investor commitment, as LGT Capital Partners manages $120 billion in assets globally.

Facility terms and rating rationale

As reported by Kroll Bond Rating Agency, KBRA Europe affirms the rating on the senior secured subscription facility for Crown Impact S.C.Sp., with the outlook remaining stable. The rating is requested by ING Bank N.V., London Branch as the sole lender in the transaction, while LGT Capital Partners AG and its associates do not request or approve the report.

The facility is a bilateral revolving subscription line with a $30 million commitment from ING. It is amended in June 2026 to extend the maturity date from June 2026 to June 2027, with no further extensions available, and it may be used for investments, management fees, partnership expenses, financing costs, refinancing of existing loans and other permitted purposes, but not for distributions or redemption payments.

KBRA says the rating reflects the credit quality and diversification of the limited partner base, the fund's stage in its lifecycle and the manager's track record. The agency adds that the credit quality of the LP base improves since the previous surveillance, mainly because of updated information and revised assessments of certain unrated entities, with most LP commitments viewed as equivalent to investment grade, although some unrated LPs still carry a conservative assessment because of limited information.

Fund profile and manager scale

The LP base remains concentrated, in line with the previous surveillance, while capital call levels also edge higher. As of June 2026, about 79.0% of LP commitments have been called, compared with 77.0% at the previous surveillance, a combination KBRA views as supporting investors' willingness and ability to meet future capital calls for repayment.

Crown Impact is a 2021 vintage fund and the first vintage of LGT Capital Partners' sustainable investment strategy. The fund focuses on climate action, healthcare and inclusive growth across Europe, the U.S., Asia and, selectively, the rest of the world.

Founded in 1998 and based in Pfaeffikon, Switzerland, LGT Capital Partners operates as a global alternative investment manager within the LGT Group, with capabilities across private equity, private credit and infrastructure. As of August 2026, the manager has about $120 billion in assets under management, around 950 professionals, about 750 institutional clients across 50 countries and 16 offices globally.

In our earlier coverage of S&P Global Ratings’ Credit Cycle Indicators for Q4 2026, we explained how the framework tracks medium-term shifts in leverage, asset prices, and financing conditions across markets. We also noted that the indicators rely on lagged credit-to-GDP and house price data and are intended as an analytical tool for monitoring turning points in the credit cycle rather than a signal of immediate rating actions.
