Inflation in the UK has increased for the first time in five months, reaching 3.4% in December, Pippa Crerar reported. This rise suggests that the Bank of England may postpone cutting interest rates next month.
Despite this uptick, inflation is still anticipated to decline overall by 2026, with expectations that it will approach the Bank's 2% target by the middle of the year.
