Financial markets offer fastest profits for superhuman AI, Ethan Mollick notes
Superhuman AI profits in finance

Superhuman artificial intelligence would most easily generate significant profits in financial markets, according to Ethan Mollick.

Mollick suggests that if artificial general intelligence (AGI) is developed, the group or company achieving this breakthrough would likely keep it undisclosed for as long as possible to capitalize on early financial opportunities rather than offering broader access.

Mollick previously said that AI venture capital investments require 5 to 8 years for exits, challenging dominant firms’ exit timelines, according to his analysis here. He has also argued that the term "tokens" for digital currencies represents a missed creative opportunity in the sector here. His recent comments add to his ongoing examination of how technology influences both financial markets and digital assets.
