Phil Rosen: Fidelity and Schwab launch teen trading to compete with Robinhood
Fidelity and Schwab pursue Gen Z traders

Legacy brokerages including Fidelity and Schwab are launching trading accounts aimed at teenagers, in a move to compete with Robinhood’s Gen Z audience.

Phil Rosen highlighted this trend in his conversation with Fox Business, noting how it connects to companies like Allbirds and the emergence of meme stocks, especially as firms pivot toward artificial intelligence.

Rosen has previously examined valuation trends in the technology sector, noting that Nvidia’s current forward P/E of 20.9 is much lower than Cisco’s 130.3 during the dot-com era. He has also observed that the S&P 500 typically gains 9.5% six months after the VIX spikes to 31. These insights add context to recent efforts by major brokerages to engage younger investors.
